Learning, eLearning and everything else
Well if you're looking for information on Learning of any kind check out Kapp Notes. Karl Kapp is a consultant, speaker, scholar, just to name of few of his credentials. He seems to have a great sense of humor as well. If you can't find what you're looking for through Karl's blog check out the never ending list of blogs he's got on his site. Love the analogy he used when discussing learning with baby's. I won't spoil it and if you catch my response you'll see although I appreciated the analogy I did not agree with his statement. Click here and go exploring at Kapp Notes.

Hey Designeronline,
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment and thanks for the shout out and the comment, I agree it is usually our stakeholders and not the designers who want the "one and done."
Karl
I read through Karl's site and your blog with him regarding the problem with learning as a single occurance. I am not in the field of training, but I have seen in my company that the single 1-2 hour trainings on a topic do not teach. There has to be follow up or some sort of a practical application and use of the new learning for people to really absorb the information. No one remembers the basic complaince trainings until there is an incident where the knowledge needs to be 'used'. Program training is picked up much more quickly whe employees are able to go back to their day and apply the new information. Follow up by the trainer after this is important as well. I am a firm believer in lifelong learning and EVERYTHING is a process and takes time, trial/error and application to fully understand and learn something. I am sorry to hear that sometimes restrictions on Trainers do not allow for the follow up and 'learning process'.
